Saab GlobalEye + Jas 39 Gripen E

In 2020, I had the exhilarating opportunity to photograph Saab’s cutting-edge aircraft, the Jas 39 Gripen E and GlobalEye, as part of their campaign to sell these advanced systems to Finland. This project required capturing the beauty and prowess of both planes flying in formation, showcasing their synergy and technological superiority.

For this ambitious task, I flew in a smaller SK60 fighter jet, maneuvering alongside these impressive machines. The highlight of the shoot was an unforgettable moment over the Baltic Sea, where I flew inverted to capture the aircraft against a stunning backdrop of clouds and sea. This dynamic shot, with the Gripen E and GlobalEye soaring in harmony, perfectly encapsulated the power and elegance of Saab’s aerial technology.

The image not only highlighted the advanced capabilities and design of the aircraft but also symbolized their potential for enhancing Finland’s defense capabilities. The breathtaking photograph became the front page of Saab’s annual report, marking a pinnacle in visual storytelling and aviation photography.
